Dear Fellow Owners,
I am extremely pleased to report to you that Barbara Stone has accepted our offer to become Gear Motions' "Executive Vice President".
We originally met while Barb was at Higbee Gaskets as their Operations and Director of Finance. She went on to New Venture Gear where she led their Production Control function for a number of years before being moved to Corporate in Troy Michigan where she was Production Control and Planning Manager and a member of the Executive Team. While in Michigan she was selected for the Volkswagen Focused Factory Launch Team in Roitzch Germany. Eventually she tired of the Corporate life (and commuting to/from Rochester) at about the same time NVG Syracuse, was petitioning to have her return and she spent her last four years as their "Manufacturing Area Manager".
Barb completed her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at LeMoyne College and her MBA in Operations and Finance at Syracuse University, where she later became an Instructor for Managerial Accounting.
She has been involved in numerous Community organizations and currently sits on the boards of Syracuse Opera Company and the Women's Fund. Barb is also part of the LeMoyne College Career Center Network Committee. She has participated in Leadership Greater Syracuse and boards for YWCA, and Consortium for Children's Services.
Barb and Frank leave at the end of next week for a trip to Australia, and we hope she will able to join us by the beginning of April.
