Types of Gear Grinding
Cylindrical Gear Grinding
- A worm gear configuration that uses a cylindrical worm to mesh with a cylindrical helical gear. Cylindrical gears offer high speed reduction ratios. There are limited for use with only light loads. Concentricity is important for cylindrical gears.
Internal Gear Grinding
- A circular gear with teeth that face inward. This process is often used to mesh with planet gears in a planetary gear grain. It is otherwise known as a ring gear.
Surface Gear Grinding
- Generally formed by use of lapping machines or polishing machines. Surface grinding is performed on outside surfaces of the gear mechanism.
Why Choose Nixon Gear
Expertise, experience, and engineering! The latest Gear Grinding Technology from the world's leading producer of Production Precision Grinders, the RZ goes faster in the cycle, between cycles, and changes from part to part faster.
The first robotic loading/unloading system in a US job shop will not only make life easier for the operators who handle heavy parts all day, but it will also improve Nixon Gear's productive grinding time by 50-75%. That is a saving in lead time, which simultaneously helping us to control costs. It is part of our commitment to constantly raising the bar for customer service.
Newly designed drop in cartridge components increase maintenance speed and reduce machine down time. Thereby, increasing efficiency, while reducing turn around time and project costs.
