Company Profile Nixon Gear, Inc.

In 1920
George Nixon founded
the Nixon Broach and Tool Company with the intention of selling general machining
and special tooling.
|

In Early 1977
Gear Motions purchased the assets of the nearly defunct
company, and began rebuilding it, by
focusing on High Precision ground gear
markets, and investing heavily in state
of the art equipment.

In 1992
The company designed
and built an award winning, special purpose 45,000sq ft climate controlled factory
to accommodate it's
growing business.

In 1994
We began implementing
Statistical Techniques in
our manufacturing Process.
We can give you process capability
studies for your product, as well
as gauge R&R studies, and
Computer Generated Gear
Analysis from the
Zeiss Höfler.

In 1998
We saw the arrival
of the newest "state
of the art" threaded
wheel gear grinder, the
Reishauer 362AS.

In 2000
One of our shop
teams developed the most
extensive cellular manufacturing
processes to date. When complete it
would produce a hardened and
ground gear set in
about 15 DAYS!

In 2002
The next cell was
designed and included the
first Koepfer Robotically loaded gear hobber and "hands free" Mazak twin spindle bar fed
lathe to produce preheat
treat gears at a 3000pcs
per week rate.
